Raakhi Kapur is an artist, director producer, writer and dancer/choreographer. She founded non-profit South Asian Arts Society and began producing small theater in 2005. Having dedicated her career to fostering South Asian talent and mentoring artists, she has deep understandings of the production and creative needs specific to the Indian performer. Having been a professional dancer in the first half of her career, she has had a wide range of experiences including choreography  at the Juno’s to performing at the Olympic Games and for the Prime Minister of Canada. After moving to the United States, she spent 8 years doing creative producing for Walt Disney Imagineering with projects around the world and continuing to lead projects with South Asian influence. Recently, she has led operational innovation for Disney Theatrical Group Broadway including producing their first Diwali and Eid celebrations in theater and for marketing activations. Raakhi has worked to develop and produce shows for Neelamjit Dhillon, SA Dance company, TEDx and  KarmetiK. She has a Masters of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts and if she wasn’t in the performing arts she would be a chef.
